Yoshida, an office worker, has been infatuated with his colleague Airi Gotou for five long years. After finally mustering the courage to ask her out, he gets his heart broken when she turns him down. Feeling dejected and a bit tipsy, he heads home, only to stumble upon a high school girl sitting alone on the street. This girl, looking for a place to crash for the night, tries to charm Yoshida, but he politely declines her advances and instead offers her a spot in his apartment. The next day, the girl introduces herself as Sayu Ogiwara and shares that she has run away from Hokkaido to Tokyo. Over the past six months, she has been trading favors for shelter, but Yoshida isn’t interested in that kind of arrangement. Instead, he sets her up with some household chores like washing dishes and doing laundry. What starts as an unusual living situation gradually evolves into a heartfelt bond between a disheartened adult and a runaway teenager, as they navigate their respective struggles and find solace in each other’s company.
