Gintama

Set in the Edo period, Japan faces an unexpected invasion from strange alien beings called the Amanto. Despite the valiant efforts of the samurai to fend off these extraterrestrial foes, the Shogun ultimately concedes defeat, leading to a shaky truce between the Shogunate and the Amanto. This agreement brings about a nationwide ban on swords and marks the decline of the samurai way of life. Amidst this chaos, one quirky character named Gintoki Sakata refuses to let go of his samurai identity, opting instead to wield a wooden sword. With the samurai no longer in demand, Gintoki takes on various odd jobs to make a living. He’s not alone in his adventures; he’s joined by his self-styled apprentice Shinpachi Shimura, the fierce alien girl Kagura, and a massive dog named Sadaharu. Together, they operate a business called Yorozuya, where they find themselves embroiled in all sorts of wild and hilarious escapades. Their misadventures often lead to unexpected challenges and comedic situations, showcasing their unique bond and resilience in a world that has changed dramatically.
